About Frontière Advisory

Independent judgement for decisions that carry real consequences.

Frontière Advisory works with executives, boards and investors facing decisions that can affect capital, operations, people, trust and licence to operate.

We work upstream of corporate affairs, public policy and investor relations. Our focus is the quality and resilience of the decision itself, not simply how it is communicated.

Frontière Advisory

Frontière Advisory was established to address a gap in the way organisations prepare for major decisions. Financial, legal and operational advisers test whether a decision is viable. Frontière Advisory tests how the people and institutions who influence the outcome are likely to understand and respond to it.

Our work combines independent challenge, stakeholder insight, strategic context and senior judgement. We are not appointed to validate a preferred answer. We help leadership see what has not yet been tested and what should happen next.

Our Africa focus

African markets are not interchangeable. Formal rules operate alongside political history, institutional trust, community expectations, local relationships and the track record of the organisation making the decision.

A strategy developed at headquarters may carry a different meaning in the market where it must work. We help leadership account for those conditions before relying on assumptions formed elsewhere.

Decisions are also judged in two directions. Local stakeholders assess what the decision means for them. International investors, partners and institutions assess whether it meets wider expectations. We help leadership understand where those tests reinforce each other and where they do not.

Our Founders

Deanne Chatterton

CEO | South Africa and Africa

Deanne advises executives, boards and investors where trust, stakeholder relationships and political or institutional context may affect implementation.

She brings more than 30 years of experience across Africa, Europe and Asia, including investor engagement, public affairs, organisational change and complex stakeholder environments.

Deanne combines an investor and leadership perspective with a close understanding of how relationships, legitimacy and local context affect execution.

Kim Polley

CEO | UK and Africa

Kim advises leaders when a major decision is likely to be read differently by investors, regulators, employees, communities or the public.

She brings more than 25 years of experience across corporate change, public scrutiny and complex African operating environments, with particular depth in stakeholder strategy, public affairs, crisis, reputation and decision implementation.

Kim is most useful when leadership needs an honest view of what has not yet been tested and a practical route through what follows.

Frontière Advisers

Our adviser network adds direct political, regulatory, stakeholder, cultural and commercial knowledge where the decision requires it.

Local knowledge is useful only when it changes the advice. Advisers help test an assumption, interpret a signal or identify a relationship or pressure that may be easy to miss from headquarters.

Kim and Deanne remain accountable for the overall judgement and recommendation. Advisers are selected for the question they can help answer, not to create the appearance of scale.
